A Little About Me

My name is Tracie Pohlmeyer and I teach at Tenie Holmes Elementary in Bay City, TX.  I have lived in Bay City my whole life and graduated from Bay City High School in 1979.  It wasn’t until 1990 and my children were in elementary school, that I started back to college to work on my teaching degree.  In 1995, I graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.  In February 2005, I became certified English as a Second Language grades PK-6.  In January 2006, I began pursuing a Master's Degree in Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria.  I will graduate in May of 2008.  After twelve years of teaching kindergarten, I have moved to third grade this year.  I will not be updating my website, but I will continue to keep it going.

I have been married to an wonderful man for 28 years and we have two great children.  My son graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management in May 2005 and is in the banking business.  My daughter is in her senior year at Texas State University-San Marcos and will begin student teaching in September.  She will receive a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies 4-8 English/Language Arts & Reading/Social Studies Composite when she graduates in December 2007.

Many people have asked about my family, so I am sharing this photo of us at my son's graduation.  I usually don't like to put pictures of myself on my website, but it was a proud day for our family and I wanted to share it with all of you.
